Kimberly Sutherland
Kimberly Sutherland uses socially engaged art and design to examine the strained relationships and inherent interconnections between us and our surroundings. Her work creates opportunities to reacquaint ourselves with the Earth through conscious observation, direct engagement, and collaboration with the intention to shift capitalist narratives that dictate the ways we interact with nature and each other. She has worked at The New York Times Magazine and Project Projects with clients ranging from The Museum of Modern Art, Columbia University, Gagosian Gallery, and the ICA Philadelphia. She has a Bachelor of Communication Design from Emily Carr University and is currently a candidate for an MFA in Art & Social Practice at Portland State University. Raised amongst the Canadian Cascades, Kimberly currently lives and works between New York, Portland, OR and Vancouver, BC. |
